We have some good news and some bad news. Lets start with the bad news and move on to the happier stuff towards the end of the post. We recently approached John McEnroe with an endorsement opportunity to be our companies brand new server. (Get it?) Well, he quite predictably threw a huge tantrum when he looked at the details of the contract and he turned us down while belittling Jeff M. in the process (That part was quite entertaining). Needless to say that even though he was a Pro - he just wasn't our Solution. (Another great pun - hah!)
So we decided to contact another professional who specializes in solutions and ironically their name is Solutioin Pro. It turns out they can offer us a much better server for a fraction of the cost and even less of the attitude. The new server is a virtual server and should provide us a lot more space to use. In addition, this server doesn't lob it over the net, if you know what I'm saying. We hope it will be able to speed SAM up and keep SAM going all day long.
In order to get the server integrated with SAM, SolutionPro will need to be shutting down our system for a few hours to transfer all of our data to the virtual server. This will be done in the middle of the night, so it shouldn't have a negative impact on our daily work efforts. We are hoping for this to be done either tonight or some night very soon. We should all thank IT for landing this huge new contract with the virtual Pro.
We thank you in advance for your patience should anything cross over into our work unexpectedly. Just sayin', it is nice that we can always count on everyone in sales, for instance, to take IT struggles in stride without griping or complaining. (I have to admit - I said that with just a hint of sarcasm. I have repented of my snarkiness already.)
Disclaimer: We didn't really contact John McEnroe. I was looking for a lame connection to tennis so I could utilize an even lamer pun with the word server. Really, when you think about it, this whole post is a bit of a mess. I should probably end on a better note by summing up this post with some quotes from our very own Galan Merrill and Curtis Crosgrove - "Shoot Player - You just got Served!" "Hardcore!" - From the film "SAM 3.0." (Another horrible pun, but funny . . . right?)
