It is that wonderful time of year where CPS employees line up in the break room and get poked by a needle full of the flu virus. Well, it is actually the Inactivated Influenza Vaccine and it is supposed to prevent you from catching the flu during the winter. The good news is that this whole experience is free. This years flu shots are scheduled for 9/15/2010.Also available is the Pneumovax vaccination (or pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine) for $48. It effectively protects against 23 types of pneumococcal bacteria for 5 years. Please make sure to bring your check book or cash on the scheduled date if you plan on receiving this vaccination.
There is a sign up sheet located on the door leading from the main office into the break room. Please sign up if you are planning on getting a shot. You will also need to fill out the attached consent form and have it ready on the day of the shot. Please make sure to sign up prior to 9/10/2010.
