As you all should be aware, we are getting new phone numbers. Setting up the new phone numbers is not as easy as flipping a switch. Each number will have to be switched over individually. So throughout the day I will be contacting all CPS employees that have a work phone to let them know that I will be switching over their phone number.
What you can expect:
- HUD will disconnect because your old extension will be deleted.
- You will get a new 4-digit extension which will be the last four digits of your new phone number.
- Calls to your old phone number (not internal extension) will be routed to your new phone number.
- Calls to your old internal extension will not go through. For example, if Stephen just got his phone switched over and you try to call his old extension (4146) it won't work. You will see a "Call Failed" message on your phone. Look up his new extension (2651) and you should get through to him.
- You will have to rearrange your contacts in HUD. You may want to wait to do this until all numbers have been switched over.
- It won't all go smoothly. I will do my best to make sure that it does but this is my first time doing this so please be understanding.
