New Hire and Not So New Hire

Spring is often the symbol of new beginnings. Trees are budding, bees are humming, birds are singing, and at least 2 people will be trembling. Why - you may ask? Because new beginnings, at CPS, refer to someone's First Day. First days are rough. Think about it . . . new people don't know anything, can't do anything, and are pretty much worthless for quite some time. That can't be a fun feeling. So, with that being said, as our newest newbies enter the fray - the least we can do is tell them hello and good luck. Because as we can all remember . . . they are going to need it.

Anyone else experiencing deja vu? Anyone else experiencing deja vu? Probably just a glitch in the Matrix!

Actually, the reason this deja vuic feeling is welling up inside you is because I have an announcement that is eerily similar to the memo posted just 2 posts ago. The similarity can be found in the title of the post. We have a new hire to tell you about and a not so new hire to tell you about. So now I am going to tell you about them.

The not so new hire is Derek Call. Derek's school schedule is not cooperating as well as it has in the past. It will require him to be gone during hours that would cause chaos in the sales division. Derek has experience in the warehouse, as he managed it for sometime before moving into sales support. Hence, Derek will be moving out to our ID warehouse to help in the small package shipping area. This change will take place on April 2nd. At this time - all of the ID Bills of Lading will be moved from the Sales Division to become an ID warehouse function, which will be a permanent move going forward. We are very excited that we will be able to keep Derek with us as he goes to school.

The new hire will also be starting on April 2nd and she will be taking over for Derek in Sales Support. Her name is Deborah Weatherspoon. I am about to share some information about her that you may feel inclined to hold against her. I ask that you ignore the fact that she worked with Bob Richards while they both worked at the Idaho Department of Education. It was the fact that she actually survived the experience of working daily with Bob that got us excited to work with her. If you can survive Bob, you should be able to handle any of the other sales reps.

Deborah has worked in education for many years and has a lot of experience in fast paced environments. She was able to accomplish some really impressive things in her career in education, but she is now excited to go in a slightly different direction by selling containers. It may be interesting to note that Deborah is also a better World of Warcraft player than Justin Orchard, if our sources are correct. Interestingly, four generations of her family play WoW together. Her, her father, her son, and her grandson all have their own guild . . . or something like that. I am pretending to know what I'm talking about on this subject, but I really don't. I do know that we are very excited to have Deborah on the team and look forward to her start date next Monday. Don't forget to drop by and say hi some time.

  2. Yeah Derek!!! I'm pretty sure you'd like to take FEDEX shipments out of Customer Support too while you're at it. Welcome Deborah! It sounds like you have half the battle won, knowing how to handle the experience that is Bob (jk Bob).

Derek, thanks for all of your hard work in the sales division. We hate to see you go but we are very glad to have you in the warehouse.

Welcome Deborah! I am so happy to be here at this pivotal moment in your life in which you finally realize your dream of selling bottles. All of that hard work in education has finally paid off!
