Salt Lake City...here we come!!!

We previously posted a memo regarding space issues and briefly highlighted the ideas that are in motion to resolve these issues. We mentioned a search for a new warehouse location that would alleviate inventory pressure on our Idaho warehouse and allow us to remodel the North Warehouse, Break Room, and Restrooms. We are pleased to announce that our search is over.

We are going to open up a new warehouse in Salt Lake City, UT. Salt Lake is a great option for our company for a number of reasons:
  • It will help decrease our inbound costs.
  • The type of warehouse space available in Utah will suit our needs perfectly.
  • It will expand and improve our UPS transit reach.
  • We will be able to negotiate really good freight rates in and out of Utah since Salt Lake City is becoming an important hub in the Northwest region.
  • We will have improved freight lanes into CA, NV, UT, TX, AZ, NM, and more.
With the Utah warehouse opening, we have a few personnel changes that will occur. Kenyon Millet has accepted the offer to move to Utah and become the Plant Director of the Salt Lake City Warehouse. Kenyon has done a great job in the Idaho warehouse and will do an excellent job in establishing the new warehouse. Sean Lamm is going to oversee the Idaho warehouse in place of Kenyon. We’ve extended offers to some of our warehouse employees to move to Salt Lake City to help establish our picking crew.

Details will be provided regarding the exact location of the new warehouse and the remodel plans as these items become finalized.

  1. Just in case there was any confusion ... we will have three locations:

    Idaho Headquarters and Warehouse
    Kentucky Warehouse
    Utah Warehouse

We are not closing down the Idaho warehouse, only relieving pressure.

    Thank you.
