Inventory Inquiry in SAM now has a new feature. Under the Item Details there are now two tabs labeled Inbound and Outbound. Under each tab you will find weight and measurement information about how the item ships into and out of our warehouses. Many items will have the same or similar information under each tab if they ship out in the same case in which they came. However, there will be many differences when looking at items that require hand packing such as glass, tins and items received in bulk. The Inbound tab shows how the vendor packs the item and also the pallet information if applicable.
The Outbound tab includes information for both pallet and UPS ground shipments. The outbound pallet quantities are based on a pallet not to exceed 95”. Since many pallets come in at well over 100” tall, you want to be sure to use outbound when doing quotes.
The information is not yet complete on all items but the inventory division is working diligently to make it as complete and accurate as possible.
