A Plethora of Happenings

I imagine that it would be fun, from time to time, to have the unique opportunity to have a sneak peak into the life of our beloved President, Jeff McCauley.  While we don't have the resources to pull off a full-scale reality series documenting his life, I thought I could at least bring you a snippet of a conversation he had with me the other day.  In order to protect the individuals involved in this conversation I have refrained from using our real names and instead have relied on nicknames to demonstrate who is speaking during the dialogue.  He is obviously Jefe and I go by my common nickname of El Guapo.

Jefe: We have to post many beautiful events on the blog, each of them filled with little surprises.
El Guapo: Many events?
Jefe: Oh yes, many!
El Guapo: Would you say we have a plethora of events?
Jefe: A what?
El Guapo: A plethora.
Jefe: Oh yes, we have a plethora.
El Guapo: Jefe, what is a plethora?
Jefe: Why, El Guapo?
El Guapo: Well, you told me we have a plethora. And I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is. I would not like to think that a person would tell someone we have a plethora, and then find out that that person has no idea what it means to have a plethora.
Jefe: Forgive me, El Guapo. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?

We can learn a lot from this brief moment in Jeff's life - but we will focus today on learning about the plethora of events we need to announce.

Numero Uno - Sean Lamm and his Wife have welcomed a little girl into the world.  I thought for sure Sean would name her Seandoleeza in honor of himself and the politician Condoleeza Rice.  But, alas, he went with a much better selection.  Tatum Tori Lamm was born on August 7th, 2012.  She weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz and measured up at a tall 21.5".  Everyone is happy and healthy and home.  Congrats!

Numero Dos - Ryan Hardman started work in UT on August 6th, 2012.  He had the tough assignment of filling the hole that was left by Reece when he came up to ID.  We all wondered how he would fill those shoes.  Just so you all understand - it wasn't that the shoes were too "big" to fill, we couldn't see how he'd fit into such a small size.  So we threw the shoes out and let him wear his own.  He has been great and we are glad to have him.  He has worked in other warehouse positions and brings a lot of ambition and tenacity to the group and he has elevated their likability by a factor of 10. Granted when you are starting at 0 a factor of 10 isn't that high.

Numero Tres -  Ryan Staats has joined the UT warehouse team.  You have read correctly - Ryan and Ryan.  Its not quite as cool as Simon and Simon from the 80's hit TV series - but they are dang close.  We are working hard to come up with appropriate nicknames to differentiate the two, but feel free to chime in with any ideas.  Right now Buck Snort for Ryan and Dingle Snort for the other Ryan seems to be the best option.  In all seriousness, we are glad to have Staats with us too.  He also has a lot of experience with over 5 years in various warehouse positions.  Welcome to the team.

Numero Fouro - Chelsea Dupre started yesterday in the KY warehouse.  Chelsea shares the same last name as Austin Dupre but thankfully for her she only shares it through marriage.  She is originally from Idaho Falls and recently moved back to KY with her husband.  She graduated from BYUI with a degree in social work. Her degree will come in super duper handy in dealing with the likes of Carey Shiffer and Chris Thornton.  Just sayin'.  Welcome to the crew Chelsea.

Let me close this plethora of news with a happy little tune that always makes me eh - smile!

  2. Ben and I are represented by other famous duos whose names have Spanish origins. One Ben failed to mention was the Lone Ranger (me) and his side kick Tonto (Ben).

  3. Actually I think Ben's name should be "El No Guapo". For those who do not speak Spanish, that means "The Not Guapo".

  4. Welcome to Ryan, Ryan, and Chelsea.
Congrats to Sean and family. I thought for sure you'd name your little girl La-a, but no such luck. Tatum is a cuter name anyway.

Ben thanks for Three Amigos reset. "Lip balm?"

  8. El Guapo = WHOLE means entire. HOLE means an opening. They are pronounced exactly the same way. They both have three sounds: “H” “O” “ L”

    For future reference:

You can have a half of a whole, but not a half of a hole. You can have a whole donut or a donut hole. You can cover the whole hole, cover part of the hole, or forget the whole thing. Do NOT however, confuse wholly with holy. You can be wholly holy, but then you would also be holy, wholly!

    Congrats & Welcome :)

  9. This is by far my favorite post yet. Well done Ben! Now I've got the afternoon giggles...

Congrats Sean & Family on the new addition, I also love the name! Welcome Ryan and Ryan, may the nicknames bestowed upon you be well earned. Who knows, Buck Snort and Dingle Snort could be the perfect fit but you should probably weigh in before they stick for sure. Lastly, welcome Chelsea...good luck and WOMEN UNITE! (Oh wait, wrong blog)
