Introducing MailChimp and Email Marketing

I'd like you to meet MailChimp. Isn't he cute ... with his little mail man cap and postage bag? Mr. MailChimp is responsible for our email marketing, and after nearly two decades of using email, CPS is finally going to begin its email marketing strategy.

Why is CPS going to join the throng of email marketers?
Because we've got something to say. We've got content to share. We've got products to sell, and our customers need us. Sending them a monthly-ish newsletter will help us be sticky. It will help them remember our name, who we are, where we are, and another opportunity to sell them on how great our products and services really are. In it you'll find news about what we're working on, products, new items, latest videos, highlighted blog articles, the next calendar image, our latest pins (from Pinterest), and other great stuff from CPS.

Who will be getting our email?
We will be begin sending email marketing messages to customers who meet BOTH of the following criteria:
  1. They asked for it (ie they checked "YES, I want to receive email"), AND
  2. They have purchased something from us in the last 12 months
We actually have over 70,000 email addresses in MAS, but if we were to email all of them, then we would be SPAMMERS. And that, my precious, we are not. We have about 1400 customers that meet both of these criteria. That's a great start! You can recommend that our customers sign up.

How can our customers can sign up to get email?
It's easy! They can opt-in when they checkout. OR, then can sign in by clicking CONNECT > GET CPS NEWSLETTERS.

You're already singed up!
I have taken the liberty of signing each of you up (scroll down to see your name. If your name does not appear here, it's because we don't have an email address on your records. But do not despair, you can click here to sign up).

  1. Our newsletter is almost as cute as MailChimp. In a cool, sleek, professional way that is. Great work Keith, well worth the wait!

  4. I happen to agree with you, Scott. I hope the newsletter doesn't fail because of the opening image.

  5. Seems like we need another Name The Mascot contest. Mr MailChimp just isn't an awesome enough name for someone bringing such great news.
