It's March Madness Baby!!!

Meet Dick Vitale. He is a famous ESPN college basketball announcer and analyst who also has experience in coaching basketball at the college and professional levels. He also is very famous for his energetic and unique way of announcing games including some bizarre verbiage that usually needs translation. Why am I telling you this? Because it's MARCH MADNESS TIME, BABY (he say's "baby" a lot).

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament tips off on March 17th and everyone at CPS is invited to fill out a Tournament Bracket through Yahoo! to win fame and fortune. Well, not really fortune but there is a reward given to the top three brackets at the end of the tournament. 1st place will receive a $30 gift card to Target, 2nd place will receive a $20 gift card, and 3rd place will receive a $10 gift card. As far as fame, you really won't get that either. You're more likely to receive disdainful feelings from your co-workers because you won and they didn't.

Anyways, Ben has created our group through Yahoo! Fantasy Sports and sent out an invite to everyone that participated last year and also to new employees. Since Ben is very, very flawed, there is a likely chance that not everyone received an email. If you happen to fall into this category, please contact Ben and provide him with the email address that he can send the invite too. You will be able to officially begin filling out your bracket on the 13th of March. The first round of the tournament begins on the 17th of March so make sure to fill out your bracket by the 16th so you can participate in the joy of March Madness.

I'll end this post with some advice on filling out the bracket properly using common words spoken by Dick Vitale. During the tournament, everyone wants to be a surf and turfer (superstar) or if your new to the bracket a diaper dandy (sensational freshman). However, you need to refrain from drillin' Reggies when you need Pete Roses (taking long shots when you need short shots) when you fill out the bracket. Don't attempt a dipsy-doo dunk-a-roo (flashy slam dunk) if your not a high riser (good leaper) or skywalker (also good leaper). Too many risks won't bring you a W (get you a win) and will most likely make you an MIAer (player who disappears). Anyways, since I'm filling out a bracket, this years tournament is going to be a cream puff delight (coach who plays an easy schedule) for me because I'm a P.T.P. (prime-time player). But hopefully, this tournament will be full of knee-knockers (close games) and not be all-mystique (inconsistent).

Hopefully, somebody caught the gist of that paragraph because I sure didn't. Good Luck!

  1. This is the best time of the year, baby! Bet you all didn't know that I'm a PTP'er when it comes to Bracketology! The Zags now have a Stockton at point guard (and he is AMAZING), so watch out. If they make the tournament, skies the limit!

  4. Stacey, that is an excellent strategy.
